The best salon in all of the Richmond metro area! Not a bad stylist in the bunch. I have had Margaret, Megan, and Rebekah all do my cut and they are all fantastic. Love these guys! Great experience in a laid back but a lovely atmosphere. T.F.
As a guy, I was raised to think that a haircut was just a haircut- I thought the goal was just to find the least expensive place and as long as my hair was shorter when I left than when I came in, I had won. That way of thinking ended the first time I went to Serendipity and saw what a difference a haircut from a true professional makes! I needed a haircut and beard trim for a job interview and tried Serendipity, and now I will be a customer for life!!! The staff was friendly and helpful even though I didn't have an appointment. I liked the hand and scalp massage, very relaxing. My stylist Rebecca gave me the best haircut...like she really understood how I want my hair to do and she totally made it do it! Serendipity is in a class by itself. The atmosphere is an "urban chic" -- pretty, but functional and comfortable. The stylists are masters at their craft. I just love Serendipity! It's my once a month indulgence and oasis from the craziness of life. The salon is casual, comfortable, and oh so beautiful.
I have followed Margaret to Serendipity. It took me a while to find someone who could make me beautiful. I say, "do whatever", and she creates a masterpiece. I'm always getting compliments on my hair, and I don't have to drive across town to find her.
I love, love, love the hand and head massages with every visit. The staff is very sweet, helpful, and they have great hands. The color bar! What a great concept! Even though I don't know the other clientele, I always seem to find myself chatting with everyone. It's like sitting in a bar with your buddies, except you have goop in your hair:) Louissa
For several months I watched Rebekah Howard cut other people's hair while I was getting my hair styled by someone else. When my stylist decided just to run the salon and take a break from doing hair, I knew immediately who I wanted my new stylist to be.
Rebekah has given me some of the best haircuts I have ever had. She is also a wiz with color. She is a consummate professional who will do exactly what you want, or is willing to offer amazing ideas if you're like me and are clueless about which cut will look good on you. She works quickly, but precisely. I don't feel like I need to block out three hours of my day for highlights and a cut.
Here is the great news--She has just opened a new salon in Midlothian. It is located in the same shopping center as Capital Ale House and behind Wendy's. If you're looking for a new hairstylist and/or new look, call her and make an appointment.
Currently, she is the sole hairstylist at Serendipity, but I know that she has high standards and will only bring on other stylists who will also do great work. Oh, and she sells Bumble & Bumble, which is another bonus.
